INTRODUCTION

“BREASTFEEDING IN A BOTTLE”

In designing our bottle, we sought out to resolve all existing problems with standard baby bottles. We placed smart, non-leaking dual air-vents to prevent colic, made a truly wide-neck design for easy cleaning, and used a hygienic silicone material so that you never have to worry about toxic chemicals. Above all, our bottle is designed to mimic breastfeeding to help babies easily transition back and forth from nursing to bottle feeding. It’s rescued so many families dealing with ‘nipple confusion’ and ‘bottle rejection’ that our Comotomo mama’s coined the term “Breastfeeding in a Bottle!”

Designed to Latch

THE END OF THE BOTTLE WAR

We surveyed over a thousand moms and nearly half responded that ‘nipple confusion’ and ‘bottle rejection’ are big issues. For some companies, that feedback stops there, but not for us. Comotomo to the rescue! Our bottles are designed with a wide mound and a naturally shaped nipple to help your little one make a seamless switch from breast to bottle.

Soft & Squeezy

SKIN-LIKE TOUCH & FEEL

Did you know that your little one has been using her itty bitty hands ever since she was chilling in the womb? It’s shown that babies bring their hands close to their faces before swallowing amniotic fluid. And any breastfeeding mama will tell you all about those active baby hands during feeding time. That’s why we use a soft, skin-like silicone material – to offer a soothing, calming touch, and better grip.

Easy to Clean

A TRULY WIDE-NECK DESIGN

As parents, we do as much as we can for our little ones, but we can all agree that cleaning narrow neck bottles are a pain in the butt. Also, who wants to deal with cleaning and disinfecting those bottle brushes? We were determined to find a solution. Our bottles feature a super wide opening so that you can easily clean them by hand. Plus, our bottles are very heat-resistant and safe in: Dishwashers (top-rack), Boiling water, Sterilizers, and Microwaves.

Dual Anti-Colic Vent

PREVENT COLIC & FUSS

Colic is a bummer for the whole family. We totally get it. Comotomo bottles have two anti-colic vents that are smartly placed on the nipple to ensure that your baby’s bottle is perfectly ventilated. This means that your little one drinks milk and not air. Good airflow helps to prevent unwanted colic, spit up, burping, and gas. Plus, there are no extra pieces, so cleaning them is a cinch!

Baby bottle the beginning

Design story

BABY BOTTLE. EVOLVED.

It all began with a simple question… “Why?”

The world continues to change right before our eyes, but we saw that baby bottles weren’t keeping up with the times. We decided to say “no” to the status quo and designed something completely from scratch. So instead of plastic, we went with a safer, non-toxic silicone material that offers a soft, skin-like texture. Rather than compromising to the conventional long-neck design, we opted for a truly wide-neck opening so that you can easily clean the bottles by hand. When we discovered about the pains of bottle rejection issues, we set out to design something that most closely mimics breastfeeding to eliminate ‘nipple confusion’. And when we learned about colic and the difficulty in cleaning out the vent tubes, we made a vent system that simply works and is completely hassle free. Comotomo bottles are the most evolved baby bottle out there. Also, if you’ve actually scrolled all the way down here and read this, thanks a bunch!

FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

If milk is leaking from the air-vents, it may be possible that something might be stuck in the vent and preventing it from fully closing. The best thing to do is to make sure that the tips of the vents (from the back of the nipple) are clear and free from any blockage. You can easily clean them by kneading the vent tips in warm water. Additionally, we recommend sterilizing the nipple in boiling water for 5 minutes to clear/melt anything that might be stuck in the vent.

If none of these tips work, please email us and we’d be happy to help you further.

If milk is leaking from the sides, then it is most likely caused by misalignment of the ring. Please double check to see that the nipple and the outer ring (green or pink) are assembled properly, and then align the screw threads to tightly fasten the top and the bottom parts of the bottle.

If none of these tips work, please email us  and we’d be happy to help you further.

Over time, milk residues can get trapped in the vent and can prevent it from working properly. The best thing to do is to make sure that the ends of the vents (back of the nipple) are clear and free from any blockage. You can easily clean them by kneading the vent tips in warm water. Also, you can sterilize the nipple in boiling water for 5 minutes to clear out anything that may be clogging in the vent.

But if this doesn’t fix the issue, please email us and we’d be happy to help you further.

To get rid of the the smell in the bottle, we first recommend sterilizing the bottles in boiling water for 5 minutes with a tablespoon of baking soda and let them air-dry. If this doesn’t fully get the job done, you can fill the bottle with warm water, and add a teaspoon of baking soda. Leave this overnight and clean and rinse the bottle next day. Hope this helps!

Although it varies depending on usages, we recommend that nipples are replaced approximately every 3 months, and that bottles are replaced every 6 months.

Although our bottles are excellent in helping breastfed babies easily transition to bottles, they are really designed for all babies, and to make parents lives a little bit easier.

Yes! Our bottles are perfectly safe in microwaves. If you are using microwave steam bag sterilizers, please follow the instruction provided. However, if you are looking to heat breast milk or formulas, please note that the overwhelming consensus is that microwaves are not recommended. Common reason for this is that microwaves do not heat evenly and can produce “hot spots”. Also, there are claims that microwaves can compromise the nutritional value of the breast milk or formulas.

Absolutely! Comotomo baby bottle and nipple is made with hygienic silicone that is free of BPA and other toxic chemicals.

You’re in luck! Our bottles are perfectly safe in dishwashers. But please place them on the top rack to avoid being too close to the heating coils.

While we don’t sell these parts separately, we’d love to help you out.  Please email us with the part that you need, as well as your name and address.

There are a lot of different opinions about how frequently you should sterilize baby bottles in general. First, you should absolutely sterilize the bottles and all the parts before using them for the first time. We recommend simply placing them in boiling water for about 5 minutes and then letting them air dry. After that many pediatricians feel that thoroughly cleaning with hot soapy water, or in dishwashers will do the job of keep the bottles and nipples clean and germ free.

That being said, here are our thoughts. Prior to 6 months, your little one’s immune systems aren’t quite fully developed.  So until that point, we’d recommend that you sterilize the bottles as frequently as you can. After 6 months, we think that it’s still good practice (and for your peace of mind) to sterilize the bottles and nipples once a week. Lastly, if your baby is sick for any reason, we’d strongly recommend frequent sterilization just to remove any doubt.
